Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

The tropical Atlantic...

Overnight Tropical Storm Nadine formed and this morning Tropical Storm Oscar was named!  No worries for the U.S, a dome of high pressure over the CONUS is keeping all of this way from impacting the Lower 48.

Nadine looks fairly healthy, but her time over the warm water is very limited, she will make landfall in Belize on today and then weakening before dissipating tomorrow.

Oscar in tracking west  toward the Turks and Caicos. He is over warm water, with favorable conditions, so farther development is possible. The steering currents are going to weaken allowing him to slow, before he starts a turn to the northwest. From there, he is going to be battling strong wind shear, so any development is likely to stop, he could even dissipate.  But the important thing is the steering current caused by an upper level low, will make Oscar make a turn to the north and then northeast, where he will move out into the open Atlantic. Outside of an impact in the lower Bahamas he shouldn’t be an issue for those closer to the U.S. Coast. Those in Bermuda should keep an eye on this.
