Veterans Day Forecast...

The surface chart shows the cold front pushing across the region, with the radar showing what rain there is, pushing east. Out ahead of the first front temperatures are mild. We have brisk winds to deal with behind the front, with wind gust that could approach 40 mph at times.  On the chart we can see a strong cold front in the Midwest, this will move through tonight and tomorrow.

The second front will bring a chance for some rain, but any rain will be scattered. Behind this front Tuesday into Wednesday, many of y’all will see the coldest are so far this season. Those downwind of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, will be dealing with lake effect rain/snow showers.  High pressure will move in behind the front, providing more sun and winds will dimmish a bit.

Thursday a system will approach, this will bring chances for rain, but right now it looks like the majority of the rain will stay away from most of our region. So likely this won’t offer much relief from the ongoing dry/drought conditions.

Friday through the weekend will see high pressure move in and setup overhead, providing dry and sunny conditions, with temperatures coming in around seasonal, so expect very chilly mornings, with temperatures becoming warmer during the day.

I’m finishing up on part 2 of the winter outlook. I hope to have that posted by sometime tomorrow.
