08/05/2025

High pressure is still providing nice tranquil weather  with warm temperatures and  variable cloud cover. But the humidity is starting to creep up just a little bit.  Radar shows Most of the region is dry But we do have a few showers over New Jersey back down into Maryland and Delaware. The radar is showing more bark than bite and rain is much more isolated than it looks. Rain chances across the region today are going to be very limited but there is a chance for  isolated showers to pop up here and there and perhaps even a couple rogue thunderstorms. Wildfire smoke is still in the air So those were breathing issues will want to take frequent breaks outside. The smoke is creating a lot of haze in the. As I said yesterday If you want to know what your local air quality is go to the Air Now website.

Tonight is going to remain warm and hazy with only a slight chance for a few isolated showers. Tomorrow the high pressure is going join up and conjugate over northern New England. This is going to change the flow and increase our heat and humidity. Over the second half of the week we're going to be under the influence of a very weak trough. For Wednesday It's going to increase our chances for some showers and possibly thunderstorms. Across the region rain chances will greatly decrease for Thursday and Friday and temperatures will become quite warm and humidity is going to be very noticeable.  For Saturday into Sunday It looks to be more of the same across the region with variable cloudiness across the region and a chance for isolated rain showers. What happens beyond this will in part have to do with what happens in the tropics.

The tropics

Dexter is still tracking further away from the coast heading out into the open Atlantic. And that area off in the southeast coast is looking more likely that it will form into a subtropical low or even warm core low over the weekend. The national hurricane center Is giving this a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression. If this does develop into depression it could come far enough north and west that it could have some impacts on our weather here in the northern Middle Atlantic region late Sunday and  Monday.

Monday we are going to be watching a cold front approach from our west. The timing on this does look to be slowing down. So depending on what's going on off the coast, right now Monday is looking like the region will be mostly dry with only a slight chance for isolated showers. The cold front is going to be moving over the region for Tuesday and Wednesday. This is going to increase our chances for scattered rain showers and some thunderstorms. The coverage of the rain should be much more widespread than we've been seeing and those with brown lawns might be able to rejoice if they get some rain.

  1. When you mention around the region,is that from Western ,PA East over to RI and North into Vt.,NH and sometimes Maine when they are getting hammered with Snow or Rain.I know you have followers in all those States and make sure they know when they are on the drought map of have flooding rain coming or even some Snow. I just answered my own question,I knew it was on the stupid side.

    1. No wonder your busy.I sent a bunch of invites out,to other Snow lovers/haters.Trying to get a jump on the season.I did it middle of last winter but must have pressed the wrong button.Size 17 finger will do that a lot.I have some more but they may not get them until winter.I'll get some others that like weather but hate when the night before predictions are for something so big that the actually close the schools and the next morning the sun is breaking through mid morning and no snow to melt.
If everyone invited their family and friends and they did the same and so on,we could have chat rooms about weather and other things.
