It's here!!!

The storm is here. Things will go downhill from here!Localized power outages our possible Especially than in areas that see ice accretion build up

Heavy snow is falling across Pennsylvania And a northern Mid Atlantic up into New York City. As the precipitation shield continues to push north.

Looking at the national weather service watches and warnings map We can see the overall extent Of the storms impacts.

Temperatures across the region are going to range from the low teens and single digits Into negative values. Winds of 5-15 mph With gust of 20-30 miles an hour will create very cold wind chills.

Snowfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour along with gusty winds will create white out conditions making travel very difficult. The overall forecast and impacts I've been making over last couple of days remains unchanged.

Localized power outages are possible especially in areas the see ice accretion build up!

There is not really much more I can say about this storm. That I haven't already been saying over the last few days. I really don't get into now casting. Stay safe out there And feel free to share observations and accumulation amounts

  1. A new word for my vocabulary: "nowcasting." Plenty of that happening on Facebook (etc.) now! :)

  2. Well I saw it,the first time that I saw snow falling when it was Below 13 with an Arctic High pumping in brutally cold air..I saw snow falling not just below 13 but Below 0.I looked at my Weather Station to see the outdoor humidity and the Pressure then saw the Temperature and it was 5 Below 0,one hour later it was -3 no Snow but a half hour later it was 1 Below 0 and it was snowing, unreal. I learned another lesson, never doubt a Rebecca forecast, you'll lose.We did not get the amount, maybe 13” and the radar shows that we have a huge dry slot coming right at us and after that there is nothing behind it so we will be done well before midnight.
Well,it is a half hour later and the Triple Wide plow brigade just went by and that means one thing,it is done,it has stopped snowing and the Snow Blowers have started. It sounded like a race when they say ,”Start your Engines” at least 5 are out there now in the dark but the lights they have are so bright. We didn’t get 30 inches of snow, not even half that.It was weird to watch the radar today. The radar showed Very Heavy Snow to our Southwest and as it came Northeast the dark Blue just kept getting lighter and lighter and when it was over us it never snowed 1” in an hour, for 3 straight hours it came close but fell short by a quarter inch.I had my 2’ square pieces of lean out in 3 spots.I'm not going back out to check the last 2 hours because it is 6 degrees and a bit windy. Thank You for all the work you did on this storm.I looked and there is nothing on the 10 day so you get a little break.☃️
