A back-and-forth week ahead!

Quick post for the week ahead

We have a warm front advancing across the region. Temperatures are slightly warmer than yesterday, but humidity is much higher with dew points running from the 60s into the 70s.  The front is also bring bringing rain and thunderstorms; a few thunderstorms may become strong to severe. The main risk will be heavy downpours, due to the high humidity. But damaging wind gust, frequent lightning and some hail will also be a concern.

The trailing cold front will come through this evening into Monday; it will produce waves of widespread showers and thunderstorms.  Clearing will be developing west to east during the day.

With all the rain, urban and localized flash flooding is possible.

For Tuesday into Wednesday, we’re going to be dealing with the trough hanging around, there will be scattered clouds and the chance for isolated showers

The next cold front approaches and moves through later Wednesday into Thursday and will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms. The cold front will be weakening as it moves toward the Coast.  Again, on Thursday clearing will develop west to east.  High pressure out of the Great Lakes, will move in behind the cold front, producing a rain free Friday with cooler temperatures and lower humidity.

Interior parts of the Northeast should stay basically dry on Saturday. But we will have to see if low pressure develops along the coast. This could bring some rain into Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and areas along the Coast.
