We have that stationary frontal boundary sitting south of the mason Dixon line extending off the coast. With that cold front over New England starting to drop south. We have a few waves of moisture Moving along frontal boundary. The first wave is over southern New England Bringing mostly rain but there is a little bit of mix over northern Connecticut and Western New York State. Today we're going to have a couple more of these short waves move through. Keeping things unsettled through tomorrow. As that frontal boundary meanders around a bit.
Late Thursday and Friday we're going to be having a back door cold front drop south and west out of New England. South of this across much of Pennsylvania into the northern Middle Atlantic temperatures are going to be in the 40s into the 60s. While north of it across much of New York State and New England temperatures are going to be generally in the 20s into the 40s.
As the next shortwave moves along this frontal boundary tonight and tomorrow. It's going to bring rainfall South of the boundary, With a rain mix north of the boundary Rain could be moderate to heavy at times especially across Pennsylvania. As this shortwave moves through Don't be surprised if you hear a few rumbles of thunder, As a few thunderstorms will be possible. Tonight into tomorrow there will be a risk for a mix of sleet and freezing rain over northeast Pennsylvania especially the Poconos, the Catskills into southeast New York State / eastern / northern New York State and across parts of New England.
Friday overnight into Saturday there is a chance for some strong to severe storms across western parts of our region. The main danger to be the risk of damaging wind gust.

Mixed precipitation
Away from the poconos Pennsylvania Maryland Delaware And New Jersey Just plain rain out of this. The same can be said for most of western New York and across the southern tier of New York state. North of the New York state thruway There will be a chance for some sleet and ice This will be especially true in those higher elevations. Tug hill and along the Saint Lawrence valley into the Adirondacks Could see 1⁄10 of a inch to maybe as much as 1⁄4 inch of ice. The western mohawk valley Could see a glazing While the eastern mohawk valley sees a chance for higher accumulating ice. Areas closer to End of long the Hudson Valley could see ice amounts up to 1⁄10 of an inch. A 1⁄10 of an inch of ice or so will be possible for areas in western New York State north of Buffalo.
Southern Vermont into western/central Massachusetts and northwest Connecticut Could see a 1/10 of an inch to 1⁄4 of an inch of ice. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible into southern New Hampshire and into eastern Massachusetts west of Boston As well as into southern and western Maine.
General snow amounts
A coating to as much as 2" of snow will be possible across most of Massachusetts, A large part of eastern Into northern New York State and across parts of northern Vermont and New Hampshire. 2-4 inches will be possible across far northern Massachusetts into southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire Into southwest Maine. Southeast New Hampshire could see higher amounts of snow.
This system will be pulling away from New England friday morning into friday afternoon
Later Friday into Saturday there could be a few rain showers across northern New York state and northern new England over chance for some mix during the night across the higher elevations. Then late Saturday into Sunday a cold front is going to come through the region. Behind this cold front we will see a slight dip in temperatures for Sunday. Put all in all the temperatures are going to be Slightly above to around seasonal for the weekend. On Monday temperatures are really go ing to climb to well above average
Tuesday is gonna be another very warm day. The warmth continues into Wednesday
But we will be watching a strong cold front approaching out of Canada and the great Lakes. As this slides into the region we can expect Northern New York State into northern New England especially in the higher elevations to see a bit of snow. The rest of the region should see just rain. Behind this front colder air is going to move into the region putting an end to the super warm temperatures. For Thursday and to Friday Temperatures are going to end up slightly above average to seasonal.
I'm still expecting generally colder air to move back into the region By mid month into the second part of March
