It's certainly cool and damp

This will be a quick post that covers the next few days.

Surface observations and 2 meter temperature anomalies

Behind the passage of that back door cold front, most of the region is quite cool. The east northeast flow will continue to keep us cool for today.  These cool temperatures extend back into the Great Lakes as well.

The satellite image Shows that most of the region is experiencing clouds But we do have clearing developing over the western portion of the region.

The frontal boundary to our south Is going to Lift north Later today and tomorrow. As the warm front lifts through the region temperatures are going to become much milder.

We have that strong cold front out over the plains Working its way east. This shows up very well The infrared satellite for the CONUS.

Ahead of the cold front We're going to have breezy southwest flow that's gonna drive our temperatures much higher for friday and Saturday. Over the weekend We're also going to have this pesky frontal boundary meandering around the region, Keeping things unsettled. For today the Midwest is going to see quite a bit of severe weather. As this cold front slowly drifts east. It is going to weaken; but it still could cause some strong to severe storms across part of Pennsylvania for tomorrow. Across the rest of New York State and Pennsylvania there will be the risk of some pop-up showers and thunderstorms. Saturday the severe risk will be  across the western half of Pennsylvania and western New York state for Saturday, with the risk for pop up showers and thunderstorms  elsewhere

Here is the day 2 and day 3 Convective outlook from the SPC.

The actual cold front will be moving through the region Saturday night and Sunday. With  the frontal passage we will see widespread rain working west to east across the region along with the chance for some thunderstorms. As I've been saying There will be a chance for some strong to maybe severe storms across Southeast Pennsylvania into Maryland Delaware and New Jersey mid afternoon into the evening.

I don't know if I'll post it today or tomorrow But I'm going to have another post, that will go into the current drought conditions and go into El Nino a little bit.
