Here's a look at the current surface chart, satellite and radar image.
We can see, High pressure has pushed east With a stationary front sitting over New York back down off the coast. Ahead Of the cut off low that is slowly working north and east. We have rain Across Pennsylvania and down into the northern Middle Atlantic. On radar the rain looks worse than it really is. But we do have moderate to heavy rainfall occurring over parts of Pennsylvania Into the northern Middle Atlantic. Satellite shows the southern half of the region is seen quite a bit of clouds Northern parts of the region are seen partly to mostly clear skies.
The upper level low is going to ever so slowly goes north and east. But it will be weakening as it does so. We can expect New York state and new England Tomorrow and into Thursday. Terrain Thursday We will get a little break in the rain This will be a head of warm front that will be coming through, Allowing temperatures to warm Then on friday the warm front will swing through the region bringing rain showers Thunderstorms those with the greatest chance of seeing more in the way of widespread thunderstorms will be across the western half of Pennsylvania.
Friday night and Saturday We'll see the cold front approach and move through the region with scattered rain showers And thunderstorms. On Saturday some of these thunderstorms could be strong to severe. Sunday will be the nicer of the 2 weekend days, lingering rain showers can be expected. Those having the greatest chance of rain being closer to the departing frontal system. High pressure moves in for Monday and Tuesday providing plenty of sun and dry conditions, Monday could see a few very isolated showers but Tuesday should be beautiful.
