06/03/2025

We finally have that ridge starting to build in.

The flow coming around the high pressure is going to setup a southern wind; that will start the warm up, I've been talking about. Today is going to feature a lot of sun and dry conditions. Going outside you will notice there is an uptick in humidity. New York state and Pennsylvania will be dealing with a haze in the sky due to that Canadian wildfire smoke. By this evening the thicker wildfire smoke should drift over into New England. The smoke could cause some breathing issues for those who are sensitive. The region will be dealing with this wildfire smoke over the next few days.

Tomorrow is going to be even warmer and much more humid. With the heat and lack of rain It will feel very much like summer.

Thursday we'll see heat and humidity continuing to increase, out ahead of the approaching cold front.

On Thursday the cold front will be dropping out of Canada, isolated rain showers move into New York State and move south and east during the day becoming more in the way of widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms as they move across the region. There will be a chance for some of these storms to become strong to severe Thursday afternoon into the evening. Those with the best chance of seeing severe weather will be across eastern New York state and northern into central new England The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has a Marginal Risk for severe weather in these areas. There is a chance The SPC could expand the risk areas and also increase parts of the region to a slight risk.  The the front will be slowing down during the day. Southern new England, southeast Pennsylvania into Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey might see little to no rain.

I

Friday we'll see the front end up stalling leaving northern New York state and northern new England likely dry with  only a chance for a few showers here and there. Further south of there for southern into central New England, much of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and northern New Jersey will have a chance for more in the way of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be on the strong side. South of here there could be some isolated rain showers.

For Saturday the cold front will be weakening as it drops further south There will still be a chance for rain showers and some thunderstorms over southeast New York State much of New England Pennsylvania and the northern Middle Atlantic. The rest of New York State, Northwest Pennsylvania and far northern Vermont will have the best chance of seeing mainly dry weather. For Sunday the cold front will have lifted out. But There will be a chance for rain showers over new England back down into the northern middle Atlantic. Then on Monday we will see a warm front approach. With the front will come the chance for scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Then for Tuesday the trailing cold front will move through with more scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.
