The latest on the coastal and a quick look at the week ahead.

We have rain moving  into the Middle Atlantic and southern New Jersey as a coastal storm continues to develop as it moves north. This isn't going to compare to some of the strongest  nor'easters we've seen in the past. But as I've been saying it's going to be a long duration event and its impacts will add up over time.

Here is a look at the Euro and GFS.

Here is a look at satellite.

For most of the day the impacts won't be too bad,  for those inland areas they will see clouds increasing, with  those on the coast, seeing conditions gradually go down hill. Later today wind and rain Will greatly increase As they come in waves and push their way inland. The worst impacts will it be over southeastern and southern New England, across  Long Island through New Jersey into Delaware (especially Southeast New England, Offshore Islands and eastern Long Island) where winds could gust upwards of 70 mph. Areas along the Coast could see rain amounts of 1 to 3 inches with some seeing amounts as high as 5 inches. All of this will cause moderate to heavy and in places significant coastal flooding and beach erosion. In the last two post I laid out my thoughts on who would see what. Y'all can go back and read that.

Second post

As the day goes on a secondary low will form south and east of the Delmarva, the primary will transfer energy and weaken. Then the secondary will take over and track north and east of the New Jersey coast for tonight and most of tomorrow. Before heading south and east Monday night and Tuesday.

Behind all of this high pressure will build in for Wednesday along with a weak cold front, there could be a few scattered showers , but most shouldn't see them. With the high pressure sitting overhead through at least Sunday we can expect variable clouds and coolish temperatures.
